Cowanesque Spillway Repairs

New Dominion Construction partnered with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) Baltimore District to rehabilitate the Cowanesque Dam Spillway in Lawrenceville, Pennsylvania, preserving the performance of this critical flood control structure. The project included removal and beneficial reuse of rock debris, shotcrete restoration of more than 13,000 square feet of deteriorated concrete across spillway slabs and walls, and drainage improvements through cleaning weep holes and installing new slotted drain piping. Completed within a constrained operating environment, the project extended the spillway’s service life while improving structural integrity and long-term water management.
